Captain Marvel: Cosmic Hero of the Marvel Universe

Captain Marvel is a title held by several characters in Marvel Comics, but the most prominent modern incarnation is Carol Danvers, created by Roy Thomas and Gene Colan. She debuted as Ms. Marvel in Ms. Marvel #1 (1977) and later assumed the mantle of Captain Marvel in 2012, becoming a central cosmic hero in the Marvel Universe.
